I have actually been doing the keto diet for the past 6 weeks, so I was very interested to read about these results. By the end of this video you will understand what this new article is saying and be able to make an educated decision about your diet!

I haven’t read any of the other comments, but the first thing that comes to my mind is causality is still completely up in the air, given the possible habits of most the people on a relatively high meat diet. Contact Paul saladino and be a guest on his show also the science could be deep dived. I subscribed and look forward to the rest of your videos.

  9. I 100% agree with your conclusions. A meat-heavy, sat-fat heavy diet is a cardiologist’s nightmare. I have been kicked off of many a keto channel for advocating a plant-based whole food diet. I eat a little fish and poultry but emphasize the vegetables and also include olive oil and some red wine.

  10. People who eat plant proteins may live longer… but do they live better? Plus what about oxalates… how toxic are our bodies and keto/carnivore seems to be the only way to dump them out of our bodies.

  11. Hunter gatherer diet is obviously the best, no processed or man made food ie flour, self raising flour processed sugar or sweeteners. The hunter gatherer diet is mainly vegetables and salads small amount of fruit or berries and a small amount of meat

  12. From my own experience, do not start the keto diet. It’s so hard on the body and outright dangerous. Listen to your doctors. I tried the *Agoge diet* and I lost so much of that belly fat.

  13. the diet is perfectly healthy if you make the right food choices. eat lean meats, poultry, whole eggs and healthy oils. don’t eat processed meats. just use common sense. reminds me of the ‘fat free’ craze years ago. all the food labels read ‘fat free’. conversely, the sugar carb content was through the roof. but hey, it’s ‘fat free’. these ‘registered dieticians’ who bash keto are still stuck in high school health class dated neanderthal nutrition requirements.

  16. I have been working out for a long time, I started in 2004 and I have tried all kinds of diets. I’m here now watching this vlog because I just quit doing keto diet yesterday. I’ve been on a keto diet for a few weeks and I noticed that I didn’t lose weight at all.
    What really worked for me is the calorie deficit diet or fast 800 diet and that is already tried and tested by me. I noticed that on keto diet, my waistline increased. I was on OMAD with intermittent fasting, but it wasn’t really effective for me which is quite disappointing. On a low-calorie diet, I could lose weight in an instant and I can easily see the improvement of my weight and waistline in just a week. But on keto diet, my abs disappeared even if I was consistently exercising every day. I just tried the keto diet because I’ve heard a lot of benefits about it like treating diseases, clearing up the skin, lowering blood sugar level and what I liked the most is, it would make you lose weight EASILY (that’s what they claimed) and what happened to me is the opposite, I literally gained weight considering that I was on a strict keto diet with intermittent fasting. When I was on low-calorie diet, my weight was 43 kilos and then it became 49.9 kilos after 5 weeks of doing strict keto diet. I feel better when I don’t eat fatty foods, I feel lighter. Adding fats on my diet really is against my will but I had to, for the sake of keto diet. Before I began doing this type of diet, my waistline was 23 inches and now it’s 27 inches and this is mentally draining for me. It sucks big time! Keto Diet is not really for everyone. I also don’t like the amount of restrictions on this type of diet, the keto flu, leg cramps and bad breath are outrageous!
    For active people like me, I really need my carbohydrates! And now that I’m back to low-calorie diet, I feel a lot better knowing that I could eat anything I want without feeling guilty. If you want to lose weight, plant-based diet is even so much better than keto diet.

  18. Plant based diet, including lot’s of beans and lentils is proven beyond all doubt to be THE best, but most people don’t want to accept it because they just don’t want to stop eating meat.

  19. This is the reason that a lot of Doctors are telling patients that keto is bad.. because people sit around eating nothing but bacon, cheese, porkrinds.. you have to eat lots of high fiber veggies, nuts, etc. Dr. Berg has so many good videos on the subject.

  21. If you can answer this question I stopped drinking soda pop quite a while ago but to keep the addiction down we’ve been
    drinking club soda which has none of the sugars or other things like high fruit corn syrup but is this good for keto, don’t know
    if you read the ingredients in club solar or sparkling water but it has absolutely no coloring no other things but carbon water
    is carbon water good for keto is the question ?

  24. I can’t believe the Lancet would publish an observational study that used questionnaire designed by a vegetarian who’s a friend of Ancel Keys!….worse than that the study excluded diabetics, the sick, and people that already had a stroke! The study also used 35g as the low carb marker.

    US is now going through tough times.
    The drought is killing off the cattle in the SW.
    California will not be able to produce like they use to.
    We’ll all be fighting over whatever food is left in our store shelves.
    Keto, Mediterranean, carnivore diet experiments, etc will all be thing of the past.
    We’ll be fighting over rats and bugs in our dinner tables. 😋

  28. The point that the low carb group consumed up to 200g carbs makes this Study bullshit. You will include many people on the Mc Donalds-Diet with this assumption!
